NewsWelcoming our newest members from China, Nepal and Uganda

We are delighted to welcome three remarkable organisations as new members.

Each brings a unique focus and regional expertise, united by a shared commitment to addressing obesity and improving public health.

Joining us are: The Chinese Non-Government Medical Institutions Association (CNMIA), the National Health Action Force (NHAFN) Nepal, and the Karucan Foundation (KAFO), Uganda.

The Chinese non-Government Medical Institutions Association (CNMIA) is a prominent non-profit organisation specialising in obesity research and treatment based in Beijing.

The Obesity and Metabolic Disorders Committee of the CNMIA is dedicated to advancing obesity and metabolic disease management in China by integrating public and private healthcare resources, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, and promoting international exchange. As a key industry organisation their aim is to establish standardised guidelines, accelerate clinical innovation, and improve public awareness through academic platforms, research initiatives, and policy advocacy. With China facing rising obesity rates and related metabolic disorders, they seek to contribute their expertise and unique healthcare model to the global obesity community, facilitating knowledge-sharing and cooperative solutions to this pressing public health challenge.
