Welcome to our three newest Members!

The World Obesity Federation is delighted to welcome three new organisations to our global community, including our first Members based in Macao and Mauritania.

Working across different regions and areas of expertise, our new Members bring valuable perspectives and experience spanning community health, prevention, scientific research, education, advocacy, and access to care.

Founded in 1999, HURIFBA is a Cameroon-based NGO focused on human rights, sustainable development, community health, social inclusion, and environmental protection. Their mission is to promote human dignity, equality, health, and sustainable development by empowering communities and improving access to essential services.

Key focus areas are community health and disease prevention—particularly non-communicable diseases such as obesity—as well as inclusion of women, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups. Public health activities including conducting awareness campaigns, workshops, and community programmes on viral hepatitis and HIV/AIDS, including temporary hepatitis screening centres in rural and urban areas.

Environmental and development work: Promotes sustainable resource management, safe drinking water, and resilient, inclusive communities, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across Cameroon and Africa.
