SCOPE Schools in Chile and Brazil foster learning and collaboration
On 28 May 2025, SCOPE Schools brought together healthcare professionals in both Santiago, Chile, and Belo Horizonte, Brazil, delivering impactful obesity education.
The SCOPE School in Chile was a dedicated one-day programme within the XIII Annual Congress of the Chilean Association on Clinical Nutrition, Obesity and Metabolism (ACHINUMET), and in Brazil, we co-hosted the School with our member organisation, Associação Brasileira para o Estudo da Obesidade (ABESO).
Chile
In Chile, the event, held alongside the XIII ACHINUMET Congress, welcomed 152 participants and featured renowned national and international faculty.
Attendees praised the scientific rigor and compassionate care discussions, calling it a resounding success.





Brazil
Meanwhile, in Brazil, the SCOPE School, co-organised with ABESO, drew 203 participants. The programme stood out for its interdisciplinary focus, addressing obesity stigma and public health strategies.
Dynamic sessions with experts like Jason Halford and Gema Fruhbeck Martínez sparked rich dialogue, while the presence of global leaders like Bruno Halpern highlighted the power of collaboration.

Both events underscored SCOPE’s role in advancing obesity care through education, networking, and innovative approaches—bridging clinical practice and public health for lasting impact.
