Join World Obesity Federation and ABESO for a full-day programme designed to advance the understanding and management of obesity through a global, evidence-based lens. This event brings together experts, thought leaders, and healthcare professionals to explore the evolving science, policy, and clinical strategies required to address one of the most pressing health challenges of our time.

SCOPE School Brazil
From the latest insights in pathophysiology and diagnostics to discussions on stigma, treatment approaches, and systemic change, SCOPE will empower healthcare professionals in Brazil and beyond to lead a more informed, compassionate, and effective response to obesity.

This SCOPE School will represent an opportunity for both clinical and public health professionals, as well as people with lived experience and journalists, to increase their knowledge of obesity, interact with their peers, and share challenges and success stories.
Participants will receive 4 points towards SCOPE Certification.
By the end of the School, you will:
- Be aware of the health consequences of obesity.
- Understand the challenges associated with long-term weight maintenance and factors influencing sustained outcomes.
- Be able to identify the benefits and opportunities of addressing obesity in primary care.
- Be able to discuss the role of health professionals as health systems advocates and the potential to affect policy change.
- Have an improved understanding of the importance of a multistakeholder approach, including media, and patients with lived experience.



Target Audience
Primary healthcare professionals working in clinical practice, including primary care medical practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, psychologists, surgeons specialising in metabolic and bariatric surgery, researchers, public health professionals, policymakers, media professionals, journalists, advocates and people with lived experience.
