The World Obesity Federation is hosting the Obesity Lived Experience Global Summit 2026 on the sidelines of the International Congress on Obesity (ICO) 2026 in Mexico City, Mexico. For people living with obesity or related conditions, the Summit will provide a structured platform to network, share personal pathways and learn from peers and experts on advocacy on how to become an active voice for change. If you are a person living with obesity or related conditions interested in attending the Summit and ICO 2026, apply before 14 April.
Why we need your voice
People living with obesity or related conditions are the only ones who can speak their truth to those with power at the national, regional, and global levels. The voices of people with lived experience must be amplified to ensure obesity is treated as a policy priority.
By gathering and connecting voices from around the world, we aim to help foster a global network of change agents with lived experience of obesity.
The Summit provides training and convening opportunities focused on building capacity, collaborative advocacy strategies, and preparation for global health initiatives. Topics will explore the science of obesity, stigma and discrimination, people-centred care, challenges around weight bias, basic understanding of advocacy, storytelling and more.

Selection will be made based on the funding availability, gender balance, and regional representation, and priority will be given to advocates who haven’t collaborated with the World Obesity Federation before. Filling out this form does not guarantee participation.
Key information:
- Attendees are expected to participate in in-person activities from July 14 (8 AM) to July 17 (4 PM).
- International Attendees are expected to arrive in Mexico City on July 13.

- ICO registration
- Economy flight/or equivalent for locals
- Hotel (4 nights)
- Meal stipend
- Airport transfer (reimbursement payment upon receipt submission
