Members and colleagues from around the world are encouraged to register for this important symposium co-hosted by World Obesity Federation and the Chinese Nutrition Society: Obesity Prevention and Control Section (CNS-OPCS), to be held on 19 June 2022.

This symposium forms part of the 4th Belt & Road Initiative Global Health International Congress & 2022 University Alliance of the Silk Road Health Forum.

This international congress will be held virtually on 17-19 June, 2022, and will feature a selection of keynote speeches and 20 other forums. More than 170 institution leaders and experts from the World Health Organization, World Obesity Federation, International Diabetes Federation, National Health Commission of China, Chinese CDC, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Chinese Nutrition Society, and more, will join the meeting and give presentations. Invited speakers include Nobel laureates, editors-in-chief of respected journals, presidents of universities and hospitals, and many other distinguished professors.

Sessions will cover topics such as progress in obesity prevention worldwide, the biology of obesity, obesity treatment and prevention in China, the link between obesity and COVID-19, and considerations around the role of physical exercise.

The event will be co-chaired by Prof. Donna Ryan, past WOF president, and Prof. Youfa Wang, President of Chinese Nutrition Society - Obesity Prevention and Control Section. Johanna Ralson, CEO of World Obesity, will provide opening remarks. A panel discussion will follow the main interventions. The full programme is available to view here.
