Japan Association for Diabetes Education and Care

JADEC is Japan’s largest patient‑advocacy and metabolic‑health organisation, representing approximately 10,000 members including people living with diabetes, their families, and a wide range of healthcare professionals. Founded in 1961, JADEC has led national awareness campaigns, collaborated with the International Diabetes Federation, and organised Japan’s World Diabetes Day activities for many years

Recently, they established the JADEC Obesity Advocacy Group to spotlight obesity as a modifiable risk factor for type 2 diabetes and other NCDs. JADEC aims to reduce stigma, improve access to evidence‑based care, and promote systemic solutions within Japan’s healthcare and policy environments. Their planned nationwide programme for World Obesity Day reflects a deepening commitment to integrating obesity within their long‑standing metabolic‑health platform. We are excited to welcome JADEC.
