A National Association of People Living with Obesity (ANPO) — Spain

ANPO is a patient‑led, non‑profit organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life of people living with obesity in Spain. Led by president Federico Luis Moya (himself a person with lived-experience of obesity and an advocate since 2013) ANPO works to shift societal and clinical perceptions of obesity by combating stigma and challenging the widespread misconception that obesity is a personal choice.

The organisation promotes recognition of obesity as a chronic, multifactorial disease and supports people living with obesity, their families, and those seeking information or guidance. ANPO develops patient support groups, collaborates closely with medical teams, leads awareness initiatives, and builds partnerships to strengthen education on nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Their advocacy strongly aligns with our shared commitment to elevating lived‑experience voices in policy and care. ANPO joins us under the patient membership category.
