Alexander French

Alexander joined the World Obesity Federation in 2016. In his role as Head of Education and Capacity Building, he leads educational initiatives to enhance knowledge and understanding of obesity.

These include the organisation’s training and certification programme, SCOPE, which addresses professional development for obesity care in healthcare systems. 

During his time at World Obesity, Alexander has overseen the relaunch of the SCOPE E-Learning platform and the development of numerous educational resources, including the Core Learning Path.  He also hosted Unlearn to Learn, an evidence-based podcast which aims to tackle popular misconceptions around obesity.

Alexander has an interest in writing and editing, having previously managed World Obesity’s academic journals.  He has worked as a manager and editor at the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCPUK) and as a freelance copywriter and editor.

Alexander earned an MA in Modern Literature and a BA in English at the University of Leicester.  After university, he briefly lived in Zaragoza, Spain, and now resides in Stevenage, UK. His interests include music, literature, politics and travelling.
