Nominations for 2026 World Obesity President-Elect
We are accepting nominations for the position of President-Elect to join our Board of Trustees in 2026.
The deadline for all submissions is Friday, 13 March 2026
The Nominations Committee has been formed and is accepting nominations for the position of President-Elect. The Committee includes Past President, President and President-elect as well as three additional At-Large members and the CEO as a non-voting member.
As per the Articles of Association, this role requires both Board approval and approval of the General Council (full-voting members of the Federation) at its Annual General Meeting to be held on 17 July 2026.
Nominees who are interested in being considered for this position are invited to submit the following documents, in confidence, to the following email:: governance@worldobesity.org
- A current photo (head and shoulders only)
- A current short biography
- A vision statement for the role you are applying for
- Up to three letters of support. A letter of support from a National Association member is also desired to advance the nomination. Please note that a National Association member may provide a letter of support to more than one of their members.
As per the Articles of Association 'Nominations for the election of President-Elect may be made by Members or Trustees (excluding the current President, Past-President or President-Elect), and 'should be submitted to the Nominations Committee at least 90 days before the meeting of the General Council at which the election is to be held'.
