Professor Nicholas Katsilambros

Nicholas Katsilambros, MD, PhD, FACP, SCOPE Founding Fellow is Professor Emeritus of Internal Medicine at the Medical School of the University of Athens, Greece. He completed his medical studies at the same Medical School, where he also undertook his Doctoral Thesis. He worked as Humbolt Stipendiat for two years at the University of Ulm, Germany and then as Clinical Fellow at the Joslin Diabetes Clinic for one year. In 1976 he was elected docent at the Medical School of the University of Athens, where his academic career culminated with his being elected Full Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the First Department of Propaedeutic Medicine in 1995. He served in this position for 12 consecutive years. He has published and lectured extensively in the fields of diabetes and obesity, both in Greece and internationally. He is author in over 10 books, and more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed international journals, which have been cited 2200 times in the literature.
