Dr Georgios Valsamakis

Georgios Valsamakis is a consultant Endocrinologist-Diabetologist in the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism of Evgenideion University Hospital, and a postdoctorate researcher with research, and teaching commitments in the University’s two year postgraduate degree “Research in Gynecologic Reproduction and Endocrinology “ in  Areteeion University Hospital,  University of Athens. He is European Scope Fellow in Obesity and a visiting Associate clinical Professor with research collaboration in the Department of Diabetes Metabolism and Endocrinology , University of Warwick, UK. 

His research interest is in the area of maternal metabolism during pregnancy and its effects on pregnancy outcomes, fetal growth and its future metabolic diseases. He teaches and supervises the research of students in the University’s two year postgraduate degree “Research in Gynecologic Reproduction and Endocrinology “.  He did his clinical training in Diabetes and Endocrinology in the University Hospitals of Birmingham, UK. He submitted his thesis with title “Assessment and pathophysiology of central obesity and its connections with the metabolic syndrome” to the University of Birmingham in 2003.
