Dr Danuta Pupek–Musialik

Danuta Pupek was born on 21 Dec 1947 and completed her studies at the Medical Academy in 1971. In 1977 she received her PhD degree. From 1971 to 1977 she worked as an assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine in Poznan and in 1989 she became Ass. Professor. From 1993 to 1996 she held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Hypertension in Poznan. In 1996 she achieved the tit of Professor of Medical Academy in Poznan and in 1996 became Head of the Department of Internal Disease, Metabolic Disorders and Hypertension.

Danuta is a specialist in Internal Disease (1978) and in Hypertensiology (2006). Her Department is a European Excellence Center of Hypertension. She is the Vice president of the Polish Cariodiabetology Society and is the national specialist of obesitology. Furthermore, she is the president of the Polish Association of Practical Obesity Treatment. Danuta’s scientific interests concern metabolic diseases, diabetology, obesitology, hypertensiology and cardiac disease. She is the author of more than over 350 publications in polish and international papers, and takes part as a principal investigator in many international clinical trials.
