Metabolically Healthy and Unhealthy Obese

Venue: Grand Palladium Punta Cana
Carretera El Cortecito, Playa Bávaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

This World Obesity Federation (formerly IASO) Stock Conference reviewed a topic which is often mentioned in the obesity researchers community but has been little studied, the so called 'metabolically healthy obese'.

The conference focused on what it means to be metabolically healthy by looking at animal models, the epidemiology of metabolically healthy and unhealthy and its characteristics and potential mechanisms. By addressing the lessons from weight gain and weight loss there is the potential to close the gap in our knowledge in the understanding the metabolically healthy obese to use it in the treatment of obesity.
