Call for Abstracts
The Planning Committee for Obesity, Dietary Sugars and Metabolic Disease Risk invite submissions of abstracts for poster presentations relating to the themes around which the conference will be developed.
We will try to accommodate the majority of abstracts; however, the final decision about acceptance will be made by the Planning Committee.
/ Late Breaking Abstracts
Late breaking abstract submissions are now open. Late breaking abstracts will be considered for poster presentations only. The deadline for late breaking abstracts is Monday 20th April.
/ Abstracts for Poster and Oral Presentations
A limited number of submitted abstracts will be selected for oral presentations.
We encourage presentation of work in poster format, during an exhibition which will enable discussion with presenters. Poster authors will be asked to stand by their poster during scheduled poster presentation times (usually during lunch breaks). Abstracts should take the form of traditional meeting abstracts with a clear aim, brief description of methods, results and conclusions. Posters must be in English.
/ Submission Process
Abstracts must be written in English and submitted as a word or PDF document. The length of the abstracts is a maximum of 250 words in the body of the abstract, plus title and author(s) names and affiliations. No references or acknowledgment sections are required.
Late breaking abstract submissions will need to be emailed to – hottopics@worldobesity.org by Monday 20th April 2015, with the event name in the e-mail subject
/ Confirmation
Authors will be notified of the abstract review outcome on or before Tuesday 31st March 2015. Further presentation instructions will be given to authors. Late breaking abstract submitters will be notified of their abstract review outcome by Friday 1st May.
It is our intention to accept as many high-quality abstracts as can be accommodated by the venue and schedule.
/ Presenter Responsibilities
All abstracts must contain original data not previously presented or published. The responsibility for the abstract contents is solely of the author(s). The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the contents of the abstract before submission. Abstracts will be considered only if consistent with the above instructions and received by the deadline.
